VOTE!
Looking for a title: we need your help? Here are our thoughts so far. Vote for which one you think is best!
Make Some Noise
Give It Up
Pull It Out
Stand Up
We're gonna steal some quotes for the film. Among them: Comedy is defiance. It's a snort of contempt in the face of fear and anxiety. And it's the laughter that allows hope to creep back on the inhale.

Updates!
Last week saw Erin, Logan and Tukes at the Relapse Theater filming more than a dozen stand up comedians. Erin approached comedy screenwriter David Silverman of CakeBaby to speak with him about the healing power of laughter. Jimmy will follow up with Silverman this week.
Next steps: arranging interviews with GSU therapists to discuss the psychological benefits of laughter.

Southern Twist Comedy Show
Erin and I took the scenic drive up to Ellijay, GA to visit the Southern Twist Comedy Club. We conducted our first session of interviews with 4 different comedians. We got plenty of great footage and also found some direction for our project. The trip was very successful. Not to mention the fact that we managed to escape a speeding ticket with just a warning.
Here is a little taste of the experience. An outtake with one of our featured comedians, Derrick Tennant.

Maybe I should give it a try?
So Logan and me hit Java Monkey last night for open mic comedy show. I've always been a fan of comedy and as a kid I used to wonder what it was like being Eddie Murphy, LOL! So the thought occurred to me that maybe I should give it a try? Could it really be all that hard? Now I don't want to be a comedian and I don't think I'm funny, but I think it would give me a real perspective of what it like up there Bombing one way or the other.

Funny Monkey
Logan and Tukes stopped by comedy night at the Java Monkey in Decatur last night and spoke briefly with the emcee of the night, Joel Byers, who is very willing to help us out with the project.
Joel has many connections throughout the Atlanta area and will be an important asset to our project.
